At present, the materials of audio cables are mainly copper wires and silver wires. Since copper wire is not very conductive, but really good conductive wire is very expensive, most manufacturers will make compromises by transferring other metals to the copper wire to improve the conductivity of the copper wire. Therefore, copper wires are divided into pure copper wires and processed wires, such as silver-plated and tin-plated. The former is mainly developed in Japan, and the processing lines are mainly made in European and American countries.
1. Copper wire
As the name suggests, it is made of copper. Because of its low price, it is a common wire nowadays. However, it is better to use oxygen-free copper, long crystal copper or even single crystal copper to reduce impedance.
2. Silver wire
Silver is also our commonly used wire conductive material. Silver conducts electricity slightly better than copper, but silver is often used in high-end products because silver is more expensive.
3. Copper alloy
Namely copper, silver, zinc alloy, commonly known as brass. This is an unusual conductor material. Its tone is very different from traditional copper wire, which is very suitable for some equipment, but very bad for some equipment. Generally speaking, this line is suitable for equipment that requires high sound. At present, it is more popular among foreign medium and high-grade wires, and the effect is relatively good in long-distance home use.
4. Carbon fiber
The line has excellent anti-aging, anti-oxidation and tensile strength, but high internal resistance, not suitable for equipment with low input impedance and professional places for long-distance transmission.
